An expansion on BRAVE x EMPOWER podcast, this nonprofit was designed to educate, advocate and take acton within the community regarding gender inequality in STEM.

mental health awareness

As a future healthcare professional, Mikaela sees the importance of taking care of all aspects of health and wellness. That's why she used her Miss Maine platform to speak out about mental health. She was featured on the first ever Talk About It Tuesday LIVE stream, hosted multiple episodes with expert guest speakers on BRAVE x EMPOWER, and used Instagram to advocate for the importance of taking care of yourself.

BRAVE x EMPOWER

On January 9th, 2022, BRAVE x EMPOWER podcast was launched to advocate for anti-bullying and gender equality in STEM. Within two weeks of being launched it gained an international audience on Spotify, Apple & Google Podcasts.

pediatric cancer awareness

Mikaela's involvement with pediatric cancer awareness started at just age 4 when she created her own "shop" inside her home to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Since then she's worked to host fundraisers for St. Judes, Make A Wish, & Dream Factory as an aspiring healthcare professional.

Mikaela created a science event at Great Falls Elementary School to inspire and empower young children to get involved in STEM.

Key Club International

Mikaela served as a member of Key Club International for four years. She held the leadership positions of both President and Editor.

St. Jude's Children's Hospital

Mikaela has been working with St. Jude's Hospital for over a decade hosting fundraisers to collect donations for sick children.

BRAVE x EMPOWER

Mikaela started a nonprofit podcast in 2022 to empower woman in STEM fields and to inspire listeners across the globe.
